Rural families’ thoughts about sexual development of their adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders

The study aims to determine rural families’ experiences regarding sexual development of their adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders. Thus, semi-structured interviews were conducted 14 parents. Since the included privacy issues, they one-to-one phenomenological method was used, depending on research purpose. Inductive analysis utilised in data obtained from interviews. Validity and reliability all stages collection, breakdown analysis. As a result, families stated that children exhibited inappropriate socio-sexual behaviours during adolescence; strive teach sexuality although do not know how generally prefer carrying along prevent abuse. Also, due knowing much about sexuality, received relatives’ support requested comprehensive education (CSE) special teachers other experts, especially distinguishing good bad people, menstruation hiding sanitary pads. Although literature reports its are taboo, this explained thoughts full detail without tabooing. This makes different meaningful, when compared similar ones. an eastern Turkey city difficult access education. experts areas recommended prepare give necessary CSE programmes individuals needs by conducting studies. These studies can be only perspective but also disciplines. It is basic human right for receive CSE, thus as another recommendation, should these courses schools.
